Guys, let’s have a chat about this situation with beards and long hair that’s been going on. I’ll be honest, most of you can’t pull it off, sorry.
Yes, that’s Brock O’Hurn I featured at the top of the article. This 6’7″ bearded, sometimes man-bun wearing, long haired adonis is one of the few guys on the planet who can pull off this look.
I can hear a lot of you yelling “well, f&%k you” at the screen right now, but the truth needs to be told and sometimes it hurts to hear it. And I’m not hating on guys who have long hair (which I don’t have) or have beards (bit of a stubble going on here), just telling you how it is.
Beards, they’re not for every face
I know that the last few years the beard made a big revival and plenty of you decided it was a good thing to grow one. And that’s where you went wrong. Not every face suits a beard and not every beard suits your face.
Above are 3 examples of where some of you have gone wrong. Not even Brad Pitt could make it look good at one point. Look, I don’t mind a beard on a guy, but when it takes over your whole face, looks like face pubes or when its that long that it makes you look like a lost member of ZZ Top, you need to take corrective measures. Ok? Good!
A well maintained, trimmed beard can add a dimension to your face, especially when you’re perhaps a bit babyfaced. Team that up with a good hair cut and you’re good to go. I’m sure your local barber will hook you up. The guys in the below image don’t have a babyface problem, that’s for sure, but they sure look good with a beard.
Long Hair, for the few
Another trend that comes and goes is long hair on guys. And as your girlfriends/female friends will tell you, it takes a lot of time and money to make it look good. Let’s be honest here, most of you don’t take that time or want to spend the money.
Similarly to beards, long hair isn’t for everyone. Few guys can make it look good, sorry. Even Fabio looked like a douche with his long hair, but hey, it was the 90s, so we’ll forgive him for that. Not you if you still rock that look.
Don’t get me started on caucasian guys with afros or dreadlocks, just don’t, 99 out of 100 times it makes you look like a homeless person. Same goes for greasy long hair – ask your girlfriend for some dry shampoo or better yet, go and wash it!
Oh hey, there’s Brock again! Anyway, if you’re gonna keep your long hair, take care of it and get it cut right to suit your face. Don’t just let it grow and grow without some proper supervision.
Whatever you decide to do, do it for you, not because I made fun of you a little bit. If you can look in the mirror and tell yourself that you look hot, then you go and tell me to “f&%k off”!
(if not, beard trimmers also cut the hair on your head)
